It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The time has come to lace up those skates and put on your favourite hat because WINTERLUDE is back!

The 38th edition of Winterlude will begin January 29th, 2016 to February 15th, 2016. This year’s festivities will include a wide variety of events from Lansdowne Park to Shenkman Arts Center. Here is a list of some of things you can do this Winterlude:

  • Snowflake Kingdom – A great experience for the whole family to enjoy at Jacques Cartier Park. Enjoy a day of tubing, ice sculptures, super slides and winter sports!
  • Skating – The Rideau Canal is the world’s largest skating rink and is officially open for you to discover! There are many shacks full of great eats and resting areas for you to warm up and enjoy some hot chocolate. Why not indulge in the unofficial Canadian dessert – beaver tails!
  • Crystal Garden – Will be held at Confederation Park where artists from all over the world compete in a spectacular ice sculpture event. This event will run all three weekends!
  • Subzero Concert – series will begin on Friday and Saturday nights with severalCanadian artists. The shows starts at 7:30pm at Confederation Park stage. Get ready to rock the night away!

It might be interesting to know that close to 600,000 people will take part in Winterlude activities – most of which are free each year. This year’s grand finale will be held at Lansdowne’s Aberdeen Pavilion on February 14th and itwill be completely transformed into a hug dance floor!
