Spring is a wonderful time to get a fresh start! One of the best ways is to declutter your home! A fantastic idea is instead of throwing your clothes out, why not donate? Donating to a local charity is a great way you can help your local community while saving yourself some closet space!

The Ottawa Mission: The Ottawa Mission is located at 34 Waller St. They serve hundreds of people who are in need every day by providing nutritious meals, a place to sleep, and a change of clothing. They take donations of bath towels, clothing shoes, coats, and toiletries. They do not accept donations of household items such as appliances or furniture.

Harmony House: Harmony House is located on 172 O’Conner St. They provide support for women leaving violent or abusive relationships to find the resources they need to ensure financial, legal and emotional security. Because many clients come to Harmony House with few, if any possessions, Harmony House accepts household items such as baking tins, pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, clothes hangers and cleaning products.

Clothesline Drop Boxes: Benefiting the Canadian Diabetes Association, Clothesline Drop Boxes are located all around the city. They accept gently used clothing, bedding, yarn, pillows, footwear, small household items and electronics.

Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy: The OFCP collects clothes, shoes, coats, bedding, linens, as well as some toys, games, small appliances, books, electronics and housewares. They arrange free pick up in the Ottawa and Kingston areas. Please visit http://ofcp.ca/donate.

These are just some of the great local charities your can help out today!
