Osgoode Properties

Community Involvement

Our Mission Statement

Osgoode Properties enhances the quality of life in the communities in which we live and work by providing exceptional service in safe, well-managed properties.

We are proud that our dedicated team acts with fairness and integrity.

United Way
United Way is one of the most important and impactful causes, supporting a wide range of local charitable organizations that make our communities better places to live.  Since 2002, annual United Way workplace campaigns at Osgoode have seen employees donate over $180,000 to help our local neighbourhoods and the people who live in them.

United Way Community Action Days
Since 2003, Osgoode has sent a group of employee volunteers to participate in ‘Community Action Days’. See the United Way website for more information.

Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive
As a member of the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO), Osgoode participates in an annual food drive to help the Ottawa Food Bank.  Each April, Osgoode building staff and tenants join forces to collect food items to help feed the less fortunate in our community. In 2013, the food drive brought in over 140,000 pounds of food!

Ottawa 67's ‘Adopt a School Program’
Osgoode has particpated for several years in the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club’s Adopt a School sponsor program. Osgoode sponsored Ecole Elementaire Catholique Le Petit Prince in Vanier. This program provides 10 tickets to the school for all 34 home games during the season. The school uses the tickets to raise funds, reward students and give to families an opportunity to experience OHL hockey. As a follow up, Osgoode purchased tickets for the 67's playoff home games in the first round. These were donated to children’s charities to allow kids and their families who otherwise would not be able to attend a game to do so.

Ottawa Humane Society
Osgoode was a proud corporate sponsor in 2011 of the Ottawa Humane Society FurBall, which raises money for animals in our communities.

Tenants and Landlords for Fair Taxation

Osgoode is an active member of Tenants and Landlords for Fair Taxation (TLFT), which seeks to reduce the tax burden of our tenants.  Because the fact is, rental apartments in Ottawa currently pay property tax at a rate 70% higher than the rate paid by single-family home owners. TLFT has been successful since its inception in 1999, when Ottawa apartment buildings were taxed over 2.3 times the residential rate – but there is still much work to be done. Visit the TLFT website for more information.
